Release 05/10/2025

Main Feature

Enhancement and Improvements Details

Multifactor Authentication

To improve the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) email delivery process for reliability and consistency, MFA codes will now be sent using a dedicated and trusted email delivery platform.

Key Change:

·        MFA codes (OTP) will be delivered from the following email address: noreply@meshedgroup.com.au instead of the provider IT email.

·        This improvement has been designed to provide a seamless and more reliable MFA experience for all end users.

Meshed API

Meshed API has been enhanced to enable API users to receive real-time notifications for key data changes within Meshed, allowing for faster and more efficient data synchronisation.

What’s Included?
API users will now receive webhook events for the following data updates or deletions upon subscription:

  • Student Data

  • Student Course Data

  • Student Subject Enrolment Data

This means Meshed system can instantly respond to changes in these data sets without the need for continuous polling or manual checks.

For implementation details, please refer to the API documentation at https://apisandbox.meshed.online/api-docs/index.html#tag/Webhook

TCSI Notifications Feature

The Meshed platform has now developed a TCSI Notifications feature enabling providers to retrieve TCSI notifications directly via the system instead of going to the TCSI portal. When a provider submits data, TCSI tries to respond (in near real time) with error or warning messages if the data is incorrect or inconsistent with what’s in the system.

Some notifications are not real-time (e.g. when checks rely on external systems like the ATO in those cases messages are posted to the provider’s notification table for later retrieval.

·        Notifications page is now available under the TCSI tab on the homepage. This can be used for clients where there is TCSI API integration being used to report data to TCSI.

·        The page allows users to retrieve real-time notifications or validations from TCSI based on the notifications that TCSI generate for the reported data. Any scheduled validations that TCSI provides can be retrieved using this feature.

·        The main reporting grid is also enhanced to include search by UID option which allows to search data for any packet using a UID assigned for that record. The search by UID option is now available for all data packets.

Subject Withdrawal Date

A new field Subject Withdrawal Date is now added for the student results page to record the date of actual student subject withdrawal. This field appears based on the subject outcome which is mapped to a relevant TCSI Unit of Study Status Code. When this value is equivalent to TCSI codes 1 or 6, the new field will appear and record the current date as the subject withdrawal date.

The change is made to capture the accurate withdrawal date for the subject enrolment for TCSI data reporting. The subject withdrawal date is also allowed to be before the subject start date for cases where the student may withdraw even before the subject could start. When reporting data to TCSI, the system uses the subject start date as unit of study commencement date and subject withdrawal date as unit of study outcome date when the subject outcome is mapped to TCSI codes 1 or 6 for withdrawal.

The new field is also found in 2 reports Academic: Student subject enrolment list by course between two dates and Students Subject Result: Fee-Help Information

Application Step-3 TCSI Information Updates

The Step 3B (TCSI Related Information) of application in the Meshed system has been enhanced with updated field names, tooltips, default values, and visibility based on student origin for better user experience. The TCSI fields have been renamed to make them more understandable and explanatory.

eCAF for Under 18 Students

For any under 18 student who wishes to access the VSL must have either Parental Consent/Signature supplied or should be an Independent Student to apply for loan. Under 18 VSL eCAF enrolments can now be pushed via the Meshed system to eCAF using eCAF integration. The change is implemented under student TCSI information page where for any under 18 VET Student Loan (VSL) student, the provider can record if the student has required Parental Consent or is an Independent Student. The value recorded for the student is sent to eCAF accordingly so there is no need to manually record the data in the eCAF portal. The changes do not apply to Higher Ed eCAF or TCSI features.

Security Enhancement

Improved Input Field Protection for Sensitive Information

As part of our ongoing commitment to user privacy and data security, we have enhanced how sensitive information—such as usernames, passwords, client IDs, client secrets, and tokens—is handled across the system.

What’s Changed

Sensitive data fields in the Admin menu (Configuration and Setup pages, and all integration-related configuration pages) are now masked by default. This change improves protection against unauthorized viewing and security risks such as shoulder surfing and browser-based autofill vulnerabilities.

Key updates include:

  • Masked Input Fields: All fields that previously displayed sensitive information in plain text (e.g., SMS account username, eCAF username) are now masked by default.

  • Password Visibility Removed: Pre-saved passwords (e.g., SMS account password) will no longer be displayed in the user interface for security reasons.

  • Password Update Requirement: Users must now enter a new password when making updates, as existing passwords will no longer be visible.

These enhancements align with industry best practices for secure data handling and strengthen the overall protection of the Meshed platform.
