Before we start with building the essential “building blocks’ of your college, it is necessary to add the users/ staff who will be using the system.  They will be the main users of the system and therefore we need to ensure that they are adequately setup and has been assigned their functions depending on their designated roles

Introduction

Staff

Staff in the Meshed Platform refers to the individuals who work within an education provider and are responsible for managing student data and other related information.  The efficient management of staff data in a student management system is critical to ensure the smooth running of an educational institution by improving efficiency and reducing administrative workload and to provide a better experience for both staff and students. Effective staff management can also help to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and requirements, such as those related to staff records and training.

Roles and responsibilities

Different staff can have a wide range of differing roles and responsibilities, including administrative staff, academic staff, and support staff.

Administrative staff typically are responsible for managing student records, handling admissions and enrolment processes, managing student fees and payments, and providing administrative support to academic staff.

Academic staff typically are responsible for managing student progress and performance, designing and delivering course content and assessments, providing academic guidance and support to students, and assessing student work and assignments.

Support staff typically may include IT support personnel, and student support officers, who are responsible for providing technical support, managing resources, and providing additional support services to students.

Access and permission

Staff members typically have different levels of access and permissions based on their role and responsibilities. For example, administrative staff may have access to student records and financial information, while academic staff may have access to student progress and assessment data.

Meshed Platform

Staff Management in the Meshed Platform involves a range of processes and tools for managing the staff data and information. This can include:

  • Staff records management: Manage staff records, including personal details, documents, employment history, and job responsibilities.

  • Staff scheduling: Manage staff schedules, including assigning courses, classes, and teaching responsibilities.

  • Staff development: Tools to support staff development, including tracking professional development.

  • Communication and collaboration: Tools for staff communication and collaboration, including messaging, file sharing, and logging.




Add Staff

To add staffStaff, follow the instructions below:

  • Click Staff
and on the drop down, click Add staff
  • > Add Staff

  • Enter Staff
's
  • personal information on the fields available.

  • Enter in Employment Information and position. If the position is not on the drop down menu, click Add New Position link and type in
staff
  • Staff position.

  • Tick the appropriate box for
staff's role. Please note that staff
  • Staff Role(s). Staff can be assigned multiple roles
and therefore
  • which will
have
  • provide multiple system access. Refer to
the menu access list to role functions 6. Click Create
  • roles.
5. Type in staff's Username and password. You may also set your staff's security question and answer now, however staff has the option to change it when they first login to the system.
  • Enter the Username
  • Enter the Password or select to have the System generate a Random Password.
  • Enter Security Question and Security Answer. The default question can be changed and Staff can change the question when they login to the System.
  • Click Add New Staff to save.


Note
Note: Staff will receive an auto generated email notification to advise their account has been set up which will include user login details (username and password). User can change their password once they log in the system.



View Staff List

. This page is where you can manage, view, and update your staff profileStaff. 


  1. On your RTOManager, Click Staff > View Staff listList. A list of your staff Staff will appear on the page. You can manage your staff’s Staff details by clicking the action icons using the Action Icons located on the right hand side as shown above.

  1. Click  this icon Image Removed to view and edit staff profile.  Once changes has been made, click Update Profile.

Note that staff information cannot be deleted and can only be deactivated.



Staff Profile Summary Home

Click either the Image Added or  Image Added Action Icon on the Staff Management page. This page opens up in a new window or in the main window, and lets you view a Staff profile, including the latest communication log/diary entry, and Action Icons used to manage the Staff.
