AVETMISS reporting

AVETMISS stands for Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard is a consistent standard for the collection and analysis of Vocational Education Training throughout Australia.
18.1AVETMISS Reporting
You can use this interface to export the NSW ATTP (Apprenticeship and Traineeship Training Program) or SSP (Strategic Skills Program) data and submit initial, mid or completion list of students. However, before you could export or generate the AVETMISS report you should remember that you must do some predefined settings to obtain AVETMISS report. To understand this, let's look at the steps below systematically:
18.1.1 AVETMISS Setup
Before you can export or generate AVETMISS report, you must do some initial setup to achieve your report. Following are the setups that you need to do:
18.1.1.1 Course Offer Intake (AVETMISS report required: TRUE)
While creating new course offer intake you are required to setup AVETMISS Claim flag to true, if you require AVETMISS reporting. To do this, tick the AVETMISS Report check box to true as shown in figure below:

Now click on the edit icon for the course offer intake you wish to enable 'AVETMISS report' as indicated by the red arrow shown above in figure 18.1.1.1a,
your page will look like the below in figure 18.1.1.1b

Simply make sure the checkbox for 'AVETMISS Report' is ticked as shown above in figure 18.1.1.1b then click on green tick icon to save the changes.
18.1.1.2 Student Course Enrolment (AVETMISS Claim)
While submitting the new application for student into the course or adding a new course for the student, if the course selection is done as AVETMISS Claim as true, then the student would automatically have the reporting on status. This can be updated by going to the Edit course section and disable/enable the AVETMISS report option on the edit section.
18.1.1.2.1 Participant>Find the relevant participant>Go to Student profile page>Click Course Icon>Click / as shown in figure below:

18.1.1.2.2 Finally click check box to make it true and click on 'Update'.

18.1.1.3 Student Module/Unit Bulk Enrolment (AVETMISS Fields Update)
While doing the student bulk enrolment you can enter the AVETMISS related values for group of student or individual students using the following steps:
18.1.1.3.1 Go To Bulk Enrolment page using Participant Bulk Enrolment as in figure 18.1.1.3a
There after finally tick the AVETMISS

18.1.1.3.2 Thereafter select the course offer intake to get the list of student

18.1.1.3.3 Select the Enrolment type Course, Module or Unit.
Note: If course selected then all selected students will be enrolled for all the units linked to the course. If module or unit selected then you can select the class that is timetabled for the group of students
18.1.1.3.4 For all the students selected, you can then enter the specified AVETMISS value as bulk by clicking the checkbox to expand the values to be selected or entered (For AVETMISS) as shown by red circle in figure 18.1.1.3b.
These data can be updated for selected group of student or selected individual student and clicking icon.
18.1.1.4 Bulk Update Outcome (AVETMISS Fields Update)
AVETMISS values can be updated in bulk by following the steps below:
18.1.1.4.1 Go To Bulk Enrolment page using Participant Bulk Enrolment.
You will go to the following page as shown in figure 18.1.1.4b.

18.1.1.4.2 Select the year, Course Offer Intake and linked module/unit for update. You can select all student by clicking Check All or individual students as per checkbox against each student.
18.1.1.4.3 For AVETMISS data update, you can click icon as indicated above by the red arrow shown in figure 18.1.1.4b. Clicking the icon will open the following window with default AVETMISS values as per the selected Student and selected unit as shown in figure 18.1.1.4c.

The values can be updated on the window and then the required updates can be carried out using the following icons available.
- Will only update the AVETMISS values for the selected Student, Selected Unit. (As indicated by the red arrow)
- Will update all the students which you have selected by ticking the checkbox next to each student's name. (As indicated by the blue arrow)
- Can be used to close the current window and return to the bulk update page.
18.1.1.5 Student Individual Enrolment/Result pages (AVETMISS Value Update)
AVETMISS related information can also be updated for individual student from the student profile page. To do this, you will go to Participant Menu, find your desired participant, click on and clicking (edit Icon) for Modules Enrolled. See the steps below:
18.1.1.5.1 Click Participant as shown in figure below.

18.1.1.5.3 Click icon in figure 18.1.1.5b to go to Student Enrolment/Result page as shown in figure 18.1.1.5c.

18.1.1.5.4 Click on icon as indicated by red arrow in figure 18.1.1.5c to go to Edit Student Result window as shown in figure 18.1.1.5d.

18.1.1.5.5 You can update/change AVETMISS values in figure 18.1.1.5d and save by clicking icon. Once all the setting is done from step 18.1.1.1 to 18.1.1.5 you can generate/export AVETMISS data via single interface from the Home page as explained in the AVETMISS Report Data in section 18.2.
18.2 AVETMISS Report Data (Generation)
Once you have set up all the information in section 18.1.1 AVETMISS Setup, you can now generate AVETMISS Report by following the instructions below:
18.2.1Click AVETMISS Icon on the home page as shown in figure 18.2a to go to the AVETMISS Reporting page as shown in figure 18.2b.

18.2.2 Select /enter all the relevant information in figure 18.2b.
Note: You have options to generate AVETMISS data for AVETMISS FOR STATE submission or AVETMSS FOR NATIONAL specific submission purpose. When the State is selected then the course offers are filtered and displayed as per selected state. AVETMISS Claim Only is to filter out and export only students whose course details are flagged as AVETMISS Report required. Whereas Non Claim Only is selected to filter out and export only students whose course details are flagged as AVETMISS Report not required. You can also select the Report Type to be Yearly, Monthly or a specific period.
18.2.3 Once you are happy with your selection click to begin export. The system will then generate AVETMISS Nat files and Zip files and will prompt you to download as shown in figure 18.2c.
Note: You can also export AVETMISS data to Excel Format by clicking

Similarly you can follow the similar steps mentioned above to generate AVETMISS data for desired period and State as required.
Remember: You must have administrator access to generate AVETMISS Data.
18.3 AVETMISS Reporting Export NSW
You can use this interface to export the NSW ATTP (Apprenticeship and Traineeship Training Program) or SSP (Strategic Skills Program) data and submit initial, mid or completion list of students. Follow the instructions below:
From the AVETMISS Report page, simply click on the icon as indicated by the red arrow shown below in figure 18.3a, you will then arrive at the page "NSW AVETMISS e-Payment Claim with Lodgement Record (V2)" as shown in figure 18.3b

Select the students by ticking the checkbox that you wish to show in the 'Generated' AVETMISS report as shown below in figure 18.3c
18.3cOnce you have selected the students simply select the 'Action Type' you would like then click on .
To view Units of enrolment simply click as indicated by the red arrow shown above in figure 18.3c your page will look like the one below in figure 18.3d
